Yes. I require a signed Engagement letter to commence my services.

Engagement letters are crucial documents designed to commence a client’s onboarding process, mitigate risks, avoid misunderstandings, and prevent scope creep. They are a good-to-have and an essential component of any accountant-client relationship. They safeguard the rights of both parties, ensuring clarity and transparency. 

Yes. As a registered tax agent, Canberra Tax Solutions relies on cloud-based technology and remote work practices. Our methods of engaging with clients differ from traditional accounting practices. 

In compliance with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and best practices, Canberra Tax Solutions now requires all new clients or new client representatives to verify their identities before providing our services. Robust client verification helps to reduce the risk to tax practitioners and clients alike of identity theft and fraudulent activity.  A one-off fee of $12.00 (including GST) applies to all digital client identity verifications.

Like many Australian accounting practices, Canberra Tax Solutions uses Annature, an ISO 27001 certified, encrypted, secure company based in Australia, for our digital client identity verifications. 

Annature recommends completing your identity verification request using your smartphone to access the email link.

Annature's identity verification process requires you to take photos of yourself and your ID (an Australian or New Zealand driver's licence or passport).  

Annature also allows me to securely collect your tax file number, date of birth, address and bank account details during an identity verification request.

No. I perform all client work in Canberra, ACT; I currently do not, nor intend to outsource any client work to overseas accountants or accounting firms.
